In prison systems today there is a about 7% of women in prison to 93% men, The social life of a women in the prison system is much different than a males. The female prison system is more open and has more time with everyone else, the female prison system has inmates sleeping all next to each other where in the male prison system only two people allowed per cell. Women rather than dealing shanks or weapons deal food and everyday goods. Women have gangs just like men but they are called "sudos" these are families in which someone assumes the role of the father and other people play the mother, son, daughter, etc based on how they actually are. In female prisons there are programs being put together to help females in prison. There are support groups, people with children can live with their infants in a special care room, and women are given medication more than men.
